Romeo and Juliet “Love Theme” (Nino Rota) easy solo bass rendition.

Posted by admin on December 3, 2016 – 12:33

Romeo & Juliette “Love Theme” originally titled  “What Is a Youth?” (re-titled “A Time For Us” for a later hit-single version by Henri Mancini in 1969)
From Franco Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet score, composed by Nino Rota
One of the most classic and memorable romantic themes of any film, naive but beautiful. I play just the A section and something not in the original as a short B-section, also an intro and coda from another version. The original has a longer verse/B section.

Practising solo bass for my upcoming Low Vol2 project, this is one track I won’t record (I choose another from the same composer instead of this), but realized how easy it is to play a simple solo/chordal arrangement when you have an instrument specially build for that. Thanks Drake Custom Bass and Guitar. Solo 5 string electric bass, tuned EADGC.

Very easy to play alone in any 5 string bass guitar.
Recorded Friday December 2nd 2016 at home in Paris.
