“Metal Works”

In 2014 Daniel Diaz accepted a publisher commission to compose and record a collection of  instrumentals based on DD’s Spacedrum hand pan. Re-mixed on May 2015 some of  these tracks are available for streaming on soundcloud:

Instrumental music performed on hand pans (halo, spacedrum, hang both samples and real instrument) and other electro-acoustic instruments. (Electric guitars and basses, marimba, synths, upright bass, ukulele, etc) Composed and performed by Daniel Diaz 2014.

In 2014 Daniel Diaz and American luthier Andrew Drake collaborated on the design , research, and development of this gorgeous 5 string bass guitar. Andrew built her starting at the end of 2014 and decided to keep development for other clients under the name/model DIAZ CUSTOM 5

The first DIAZ CUSTOM 5 it’s been completed on April 2015.

This new, wonderful instrument with an extended range and increased playability will cover bass guitar and baritone guitar roles for D.D.’s upcoming projects and it’s a dream come true, an electric counterpart of his beloved L’arrivée acoustic (you can hear  this bass on DD’s trio album).
