The Old Country – bass solo

Posted by admin on March 6, 2017 – 09:05

An idea for those who want to break with the supporting/rhythm section role of the bass guitar (albeit occasionally) to play alone, or play chordal and melodic songs This is quite easy to learn (particular on a 5 string)

“The Old Country” by Nat Adderley and Curtis Lewis. Very easy solo bass rendition. Besides the simple and low key arrangement, it is made even easier using a custom made instrument specifically designed for this type of chord-melody playing. Bass by Andrew drake.

Just the 16 bar melody/theme played twice. Performed by Daniel Diaz in Paris, December 6th 2016.
